THE BRIEF:
“Create copy highlighting the unique aspects of three Four Seasons properties which make them ideal for winter vacations.”
FLEE THE SNOW, FIND THE SUN
If you prefer white sand beaches to snow, one of these exceptional Four Seasons Resorts may be just what you’re looking for. Running the gamut from a relaxing reading spot, to an adventure-filled destination for thrill-seekers, to the perfect locale for winter nuptials, here we present three stunning beach Resorts to which you can escape when the weather turns cold.
Punta Mita: The Waves, The Waves Are Calling
Surfers of all skill levels can catch a break at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, México.
A brief three-minute walk from the Resort’s Surf Shack, Las Cuevas Beach offers beginners calm waves off a beautiful white sand beach, while The Cove and La Lancha are ideal spots for intermediate surfers, and are quick five and fifteen minute boat rides away, respectively.
Overseeing the property’s surfing excursions from a beachside surf shack is Donna Scherer, who has the perfect spot for advanced surfers. “El Faro is probably the most advanced wave we take guests to,” Scherer says of the cove and is within walking distance. “El Anclote, 10 minutes away and known as the Mexican Malibu, offers very gentle longboarding that runs for ages and is named after the classic world-class Malibu wave. Burros is about 20 minutes away by boat and can be great if conditions suit.”
If watching the waves is more your speed than riding them, The Four Seasons Explorer is available for sunset cruises and excursions to spot dolphins and whales, while sipping champagne.
Hualalai: Say “I Do” With Sand Between Your Toes
“If you are picturing a wedding with a backdrop of lush island foliage, crystal-clear waters and unrivalled beauty by day and illuminated tiki torches, stellar sunsets and sparkly evening stars by evening, there is no destination more perfect than Four Seasons Resort Hualalai,” says Director of Special Events Melina Manchester.
“Set on the exclusive Kona-Kohala Coast, it is what Hawaiian wedding dreams are made of.” Boasting several beautiful event locations across its 800 acres, the Resort offers everything from ceremonies atop black lava bluffs to receptions deep in the lush Hawaiian rain forest.
“Hualalai is a little slice of paradise year round, but it’s especially magical during the winter due to warm temperatures and less crowded beaches on the Big Island,” says Manchester. “The quiet of the winter months makes the Resort feel intimate and worlds away from civilization; the perfect time to say ‘I do.’”
Seychelles, Desroches Island: Secluded Relaxation
If your winter vacation checklist leans more towards the relaxing things in life than non-stop action, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island is the ideal place to dig your toes into the soft sand and crack open a good book. The sole retreat on the entire island, this resort boasts 14 kilometres (9miles) of pristine white-sand beaches; should you prefer fresh water, each guest suite and villa features a private swimming pool and daybed pavilion.
Not only does the Resort feature two world-class fine dining restaurants, but The Deli offers takeaway picnic baskets; choose from an array of cold cuts, sandwiches, pastries and desserts to take with you while exploring the coastline on one of the numerous bicycles available for your use.
